Typing stays on your device

M-G Keyboard does not send your keystrokes, typed text or learned phrases to us. The app and keyboard include no advertising, tracking or third-party analytics SDKs. They require no account and work without Full Access.

What the keyboard stores locally

The keyboard stores Chinese character-selection counts to improve candidate order. It also learns short Chinese sequences you explicitly select through the keyboard, including accepted phrase completions. It keeps up to 512 fragments of two to six Chinese characters and up to 512 records of removed suggestions. Repeated selections make personal suggestions available; older records may be replaced as storage fills. The bundled word list is separate and supplies suggestions from first use.

English text and numbers are not included in phrase learning. The keyboard checks nearby text and the cursor position temporarily to apply capitalization, check the current English word using Apple’s on-device spelling dictionary, perform optional autocorrection/undo and avoid inserting stale candidates. That surrounding document context is not saved as a document history. The keyboard does not access your clipboard or contacts.

The Auto-correction preference is stored locally and defaults to off. Temporary spelling and undo state is held in memory. The bundled words.hk list is packaged with the app; typing does not contact words.hk or download a language model.

The emoji catalogue and English/Traditional Chinese search keywords are bundled for offline use. The keyboard stores up to 64 distinct recent emoji and per-emoji skin-tone choices locally. Emoji search queries are temporary, are never sent to the host document or a remote service, are not saved, and clear when the keyboard disappears.

Your choices and retention

Long-press a phrase suggestion and choose the removal option to suppress it for that context. Local learning persists between keyboard sessions until records are replaced or app data is removed. To stop using the keyboard, remove it in iOS Settings → General → Keyboard → Keyboards. To remove the app and its local learning data, delete M-G Keyboard from your iPhone or iPad; offloading the app is different and may preserve its data. Device backups and restoration are controlled by iOS and your Apple settings.

Support and this website

If you email support, we receive your email address and the information you choose to include. We use it to answer your request and retain it only as needed for support or applicable obligations. You can ask us to delete support correspondence. Please avoid sending private text or sensitive screenshots.

This support website uses GitHub Pages and contains no analytics scripts or tracking cookies added by us. GitHub may process technical request information when serving the site; see the GitHub Privacy Statement. Visiting this website or sending email is separate from offline keyboard use.

Sharing and contact

We do not sell typing data, and we have no server copy of your keyboard learning to share or recover. If you contact us, your email is handled by the email services used to deliver it. For privacy questions or support-data deletion requests, contact M-G Keyboard Support at durum_93rubies@icloud.com.
